I’m very pleased to be able to share with you a new book, just published, dedicated to my book art work.
Beautifully produced, it celebrates 40 years of making and self publishing books.
It features a selection of over 50 book works, all photographed and illustrated throughout with a description and details of each book.
From a young age I loved and collected picture books in particular. Making my own books, with an emphasis on imagery has always been and continues to be an integral part of my practice as an artist.
Over the years the books have been made in a variety of different ways using what ever means of production seems appropriate. Screen print, rubber-stamps, letterpress, photographic print, photocopy, digital and even potato printing.
I enjoy exploring the various printing methods as well as the challenge and need for invention that each has posed.
It remains a relevant creative process for me to make a book, well crafted, intimate in scale, affordable and interesting to ‘read’ as much as an art object in itself.
